Born in Conakry to a Guinean father and a Senegalese mother, she obtained her baccalaureate before settling in England and later in Belgium—perhaps drawn by a love for kingdoms! Her professional experiences are remarkable in their diversity, spanning the public sector, large corporations, and investment banking. She also ran a grocery store for a while in Welkenraedt, the town she adopted as her own.
A polyglot, she has been passionate about reading since childhood. The desire to write has been with her since adolescence. Two women have been great sources of inspiration in her life: Aminata Sow Fall, the Senegalese author of La Grève des Bàttu, and her grandmother, who taught her to focus on the beauty of the soul rather than what is visible.
The author drew inspiration from her childhood experiences, transposing them into the animal world to convey her message in a playful way to children. This is her own story, but she chose to replace the characters with animals.
