Melissa McLaughlin is a teacher and writer. She loves encouraging others through her faith and words. Having retired from her career as a public school teacher, she now writes and speaks about her passion, Jesus Christ.
Melissa holds Bachelor’s Degrees in Elementary Education and Special Education and a Master’s Degree as a Reading Specialist. In addition, she earned a Certificate in Foundations of Biblical Studies which complements her teaching degrees, as she writes to uplift and inspire followers of Christ.
Melissa hosts Bible studies and prayer groups and co-hosted a Writer’s Workshop at her local church.
During the darkest season of her life, Melissa lost her voice to pray. God restored Melissa’s voice as she learned to utilize Scripture to articulate her prayers. Through this experience, her faith was reignited, and her love for God flourished. This journey led Melissa to write her first book, a prayer guide called In Dark of Night When Words Fail, Voice of Jesus Pray for Me.
God planted the seeds of faith in Melissa’s heart for another book after a failed attempt to read through the Bible with her family. God inspired Melissa to write The Whole Bible Devotional: Seeing Jesus in Every Book of the Bible to help others who may have struggled to read through the Bible or who may have read through the Bible but found difficulty connecting the dots at the end.
Melissa is dedicated to helping others strengthen their faith in Christ through the good times and tough times.
Melissa enjoys walks in nature where she soaks in the sights and sounds of God’s wonderful creation. One of her greatest delights is spending time with her husband, children, family, and friends. Her two cats, Cookie and Little One, add laughter and cuddles to their family time.
