The Phoenix Ascends

A historical fiction romance of love and adventure. A young biracial lawyer named John, living in Canada, discovers his grandfather, a plantation owner, has died and left the plantation to Tom, John’s father. John goes against his father’s wishes and travels to Texas to settle his father’s estate. On his way home he frees a woman named Virginia. John and Virginia embark on an adventure to Canada. During their adventure, they meet a couple, James and Martha, who offer them shelter, as well as a plantation owner named Harrison, who is determined to claim Virginia for his own. Most importantly, they discover love.

The Offer: A Psychological Thriller

Bri Johnson is a dedicated wife and mother, but even she enjoys a night out now and again, and La’keya’s bachelorette party is the perfect opportunity. At least, until Bri has to rough up some guy for getting handsy and he winds up all over the news… dead, La’keya swears she’ll keep what she knows under wraps, but only if Bri does her the favor of watching her teenage daughter, Torrie, while La’keya’s on her honeymoon. Seems simple enough.

Until Torrie goes missing.

Her kidnapper has an offer for Bri that involves kidnapping someone else to trade for Torrie. Running low on time and options, Bri doesn’t like the person she’s turning into… but what else can she do when the alternative is going to jail for murder?
