In the 1870s, the United States is still reeling in the aftermath of the Civil War. The Gold Rush is a thing of the past, but the American West still holds allure and promise for those brave enough to venture into its untamed frontiers and build new lives for themselves.
Former Union soldiers Owen Cobb and Will Abbott set off down the length of Missouri toward Oklahoma in search of a former comrade and his son who undertook just such a pursuit. Their path is rife with danger along the way, but Owen and Will soon discover that the greatest threat in this vast, isolated terrain is found in places–and people–where they least expect it.
